BAS-RHIN. BARON DE FLACHSLANDEN (Jean François Henry) Saverne (Bas-Rhin) 1734 - Germany 1797 - General Officer, Deputy of the Nobility to the Estates-General by the Bailiwick of COLMAR and SCHLESDATD 1789. Absolute partisan of the Old regime, he left in emigration - Autograph letter signed by the Deputy Baron of FLACHSLANDEN, in STRASBOURG (Bas-Rhin) on January 10, 1788 - 2 pages in-8° - "Mr. the Count. You will see by my report that I could not dispense with concluding to the restitution of the badly employed sums. But there are two reflections that I did not want to make... One I was forced to stop on the calculations because I found too much fiddling. The other is that the Heads of Ordinary having been questioned by the Officers, in order to ascertain the fact put forward, there necessarily follows a publicity in the Corps which must remove from the Head all personal considerations..."
