MARSHAL DE BEURNONVILLE. Letter A.S. the General de BEURNONV - Lot 309
MARSHAL DE BEURNONVILLE. Letter A.S. the General de BEURNONVILLE, Paris April 23, 1816, addressed to his Lawyer MonSieur PATENOTRE, in Paris (with Franchise Contreseing), about an inheritance in the Island of BOURBON (Reunion Island). 2 pages in-4°: "...relative to the succession of the late Father DUROSNEL, Cordelier and Curate of Ste Rose in the Island of BOURBON. It is very true, Sir, that one of my friends in this Colony wrote to me about this estate, which I asked Monsieur le Préfet du Pas de Calais to let me know who the heirs are, that he sent me their power of attorney, which I sent to the Isle of Bourbon, and that their representative is in a position to have the said estate transferred to France. I will be all the more flattered to discuss this succession with you, Sir, that the former Prefect of the Department of Pas de Calais has been changed, that I am no longer able to take back these heirs to give them knowledge of future shipments and that it will also be a pleasure for me to take care of it towards the heirs..." - BEURNONVILLE (Pierre RIEL de) Champignolle (Aube 1752 - Paris 1821) was General in 1792, Minister of War from February 4 to April 1, 1793, Count of the Empire 1808, Marshal of France on July 3, 1816.
