(1788-1879) Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Cuirassiers of the Guard, Peer of France, General, Commander of the Legion of Honor. 2 private LETTERS addressed to Mr. Marquis Maurice FORTON (1756-1826), in BEAUCAIRE (Gard): April 2 and May 22, 1830: "My son having asked to be part of the Expedition of Algiers, I would like to know, My dear Maurice, if it would be possible for you to find me in your vicinity two good horses. They do not need to be of a large size but of a good supple and vigorous temperament..."; In the second letter, he withdraws because the departure of his son for Africa is immediate.
