BRILLAT-SAVARIN, Anthelme: Physiology of taste. S.l. (Paris - Lot 42
BRILLAT-SAVARIN, Anthelme: Physiology of taste. S.l. (Paris or Dijon), éditions du Raisin - Maurice Darantière, October 1930, expl. n° 527/1000 on Auvergne laid paper, large in-8, br. filled, black cover ill. with title in red, complete title in black and red capitals on smooth spine, 464 - (2) pp. We do not present anymore "the physiology of taste" of Brillat-Savarin but this edition is particular! It is realized by Maurice Darantière (1882 - 1960) printer and publisher from Dijon. His father Victor and himself were two master printers very well known in the bibliophile world for the care taken in their typography and the quality of their choice of paper, which makes their "creations" very sought after! In 1926, Maurice Darantière created his own publishing house, "Les Editions du Raisin", located in the old Sagane hotel in the Marais district of Paris. In addition to the first edition, this copy is one of the sought-after books of this publishing house and of the collectors of Brillat-Savarin's "physiology of taste". RARE. Very good condition with some very light foxing to the last leaf and a debossed mark on the back cover.
