A great classic of culinary literature in its fourth edition with four engravings outside the text. This edition is the most complete and the most wanted with the first edition of 1801! The author (1760 - 1839) was both poet and journalist. This poem on the art of eating well brought him fame with a large audience. Very good condition of the paper; the spine of the binding has been redone (the jaws remaining very fragile) and small lacks in the fillets of the boards; the head gilding is dull; the engravings are in very good condition.
