Paris, 1947, ORIGINAL EDITION, edited especially for the Confrèrie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, expl. d'Artiste n° R/26 on cream vellum, folio in filled cover, in cream cardboard folder with title in red on spine, all in yellow cloth slipcase, 207 - (11) pp, title page ill. "Tatstevin en main", 65 original copperplates, including 18 out of text in black and color by Hervé BAILLE, preface by CURNONSKY. A journey through the kitchens of history as written by the two "princes of gastronomes" Curnonsky and Maurice des Ombiaux. Topics such as gastronomy and love, the table and the arts, the table during the Regency, wine, the coffee of Saint Dominique, the elixir of the troubadours and many other topics. Hervé Baille (1896 - 1974) was the founder of the newspaper "Le tord Boyau" and drew for "Le Rire", "le sourire" and "pèle-mèle". He was the author of many "advertisements" for Air France and the Laughing Cow. RARE. Very good condition. A few small freckles.
