A curious work full of medical recipes in the composition of which the leaves or other parts of tobacco are used. The author sees tobacco as a small panacea, stating that it soothes hunger and thirst and can be used as an antidote in case of hellebore poisoning. It underlines the importance of the Dutch in the importation of tobacco from America to Europe. The cultivation, harvesting, processing and storage of tobacco are discussed. As well as the way to smoke it with a pipe. Very beautiful and complete plates. Stamp of the library of Jean Richard, great collector of works on tobacco and especially on the pipe. New binding, handwritten ex-libris on a guard and on the title page, yellowed paper, a few freckles, some leaves skilfully restored (former presence of traces of worms), RARE and SEARCH.
