The Duchess of LUXEMBOURG. Marie-Sophie COLBERT DE SEIGNELAY (1711-1747), Marquise de Seignelay, Countess of Tancarville then Duchess of Luxembourg. She was the daughter of Count and Marquis Marie-Jean-Baptiste Colbert, and Marie-Louise-Maurice de Fürstenberg. Jean-Baptiste Colbert, former Minister of Louis XIV is her great-grandfather. She married in 1724 the Duke and Prince Charles II Frédéric de Montmorency-Luxembourg, Peer of France, Governor of Normandy in 1726, Marshal of France in 1757 - signed letter written in Paris on July 10, 1747, addressed to a sister. The ailing Duchess opposes the order given to the nuns to leave the land of SEIGNELAY (YONNE).
