Countess FANNY DE BEAUHARNAIS. Marie-Anne-Françoise MOUCHARD DE CHABAN (1737-1813), known as Fanny, was a woman of letters. She was the daughter of François Abraham Marie Mouchard de Chaban, an equerry who had acquired the office of Receiver General of Finances of Champagne, and of Anne Louise Lazure, daughter of a member of the King's paneterie-bouche and cook of the small apartments of Louis XV. Godmother of Hortense de BEAUHARNAIS, her little niece, she married on March 1, 1753 Claude-Joseph de BEAUHARNAIS, 20 years older than her, Lord then Count of Roches-Baritaud, naval officer and gentleman - 6 autographed letters signed of which : One addressed to Mlle de CERÉ BARBÉ written in Paris in the year 10 + One addressed to the Inspector General of Police with the arms of the British family of Egerton dated May 28, 1813 in which she speaks of the victories of their great monarch. Signed "Fanny de Beauharnais".
