BRIDGE OVER THE DURANCE - Bouches du Rhône (13) Vaucluse (84) / Commercial and craft archives of contractor Jacques CHABERT, who won the contract to build a bridge over the Durance in the 1840s, probably linking the Bouches du Rhône and Vaucluse departments between Mallemort and Mérindol, stone bridge with wooden deck completed in 1848 - This archive contains around 70 documents, including handwritten memoranda (many specifying "for the construction of the bridge over the Durance") concerning journeymen stonemasons, the supply and repair of equipment and materials, the transport of stones from Tarascon, the settlement of various parties, etc. Some memoranda also concern a bridge known as the "Durance Bridge". - Some memoirs also concern a bridge known as the "goat bridge".
