SIEGE DE PARIS / Set of souvenirs from the Siege of Paris (1870-71) in a captioned envelope, from the Rafflin family who lived at 12 rue Chaudron in Paris 10: 2 ration cards (bread and meat) and a poster "Spécimen authentique des infames spéculations auxquelles a donné lieu le Siège de Paris 1870-1871", a Communard poster castigating the role of the Government of National Defense in commodity speculation, printed in 1871 by Edouard Blot and on sale at Pigeol's, a wine merchant on the corner of rue Montmartre and rue du Croissant, a document extensively captioned on the back in pencil by Antonia Rafflin, which bears witness to her privations and the delirious prices of all kinds of foodstuffs / Joint : Dépéche-Ballon, journal des Evénements du Siège n° 16 du mardi 20 décembre 1870, printed 4 p in-8 (has not circulated)
