Roi EDOUARD VII - EXPOSITION FRANCO-BRITANNIQUE de LONDRES 1908 / Livre d'Or du Pavillon français Moët et Chandon de cette exposition à Londres du 14 mai au 31 octobre 1908 célébrant l'Entente Cordiale ; Signed binding by Maison Asprey (166 Bond Street, London), full morocco, large in-4 (24 x 30 cm), mosaic-covered boards, half in blue and half in red, with ornate double gilded fillets and titled "Franco-British Exhibition - London - 1908 - Pavillon Moët Chandon", blue and red mosaic-covered spine with gilded fillets, gilded edges, morocco lining in the same colors; The first page is signed by King Edward VII on July 13, 1908, followed by the signature of Constantine Duke of Sparta (future King Constantine I of Greece); approximately 70 signatures follow on 5 pages, including : Gaston Chandon de Briailles and his wife, then dignitaries from the Aristocracy (Barons and Lords) or British Finance, members of the French Committee: Derby, Jersey, Cockburn, Selby, Gustave Chevillard, Spielmann, Weardale, Charles Howard, Gilbey, Blyth, Kiralfy, Norman Lockyer, Charles Charleton, Joseph Lyons, Burnham, Witheldaw Reid, Welby, Clifton Robinson, Paul Cambon, Henri de Manneville, François de La Bégassière, Gustave Goerg, Suffield, Rich, Jean-Remy Chandon, Bruno de Maigret, Ivan de Maigret, François de Maigret (nephews of Gaston de Chandon), Alice de Casteja, Stanuslas de Casteja, Harry de Montebello, John Bell (Lord Mayor), Robinson (Chairman), Lionel Rothschild, Desborough and others. We also note the signatures of the Sultan of Zanzibar Ali Bin Hamid, the Chinese Ambassador Li Ching Fong and Sir Covarrubias, the American Ambassador / We enclose the souvenir album that was published in 1909 in memory of this event for the Maison Moët Chandon: approx. 100 p, large in-4, listing all the members of the various committees and subscribers, abundantly illustrated with photos (outside and inside the pavilion, banquets, groups), reproducing all the menus of the numerous banquets, exhaustively listing all the articles published in the international press and, above all, reproducing the signatures of the visitors' book we are presenting, making it an important source of information.
