[BALZAC] - Anna HANSKA (1828-1915, daughter-in-law of Balzac - Lot 242
[BALZAC] - Anna HANSKA (1828-1915, daughter-in-law of Balzac, daughter of Madame Hanska, wife of Count Georges MNISZECH) / Autograph receipt signed, 1 p in-8 on mourning paper, drawn up in Paris on July 18, 1882: she declares having received from Paul Calmann-Lévy the sum of 1000 francs for the sale of manuscripts, revenue stamp dated and signed by Calman-Lévy - These are Balzac manuscripts (NB: Balzac married Madame Hanska in March 1850, he died in July, and Anna soon arrived with her husband to settle with her mother; she squandered the entire fortune left by Balzac, and in 1882, when Madame Hanska died, the sale of the Château de Villeneuve-Saint-Georges was barely enough to cover the debts; thus, 3 months after her mother's death, she sold Balzac's manuscripts!)
