LA HOTTE SAINT-NICOLAS (DENIS FRÈRES) - France (1) RARE CRAWLER EXCAVATOR Ref. 305 rectified to 365 as shown on toy. In lithographed sheet metal, length 270 mm, including boom. Produced in 1948. Red, yellow, green. Rubber tracks (still flexible). 2 cranks for raising and lowering the boom and dumping the bucket. The wind-up motor (key not supplied) controls turret rotation. The back of the cab features the brand's first logo: an elephant's head in a cogwheel with a capital "H", recalling the activity of this former watchmaking company based near Dieppe.
