Godefroy-Maurice de LA TOUR D'AUVERGNE, Duc de Bouillon, was Count of Auvergne and Grand Chamberlain of France from 1658 to 1715, under Louis XIV. In 1662, he married the niece of Jules MAZARIN (1636-1721) - Letter signed "le Duc de BOUILLON", to his brother, from DIJON (21) January 23, 1707. 2pp in-4°: "Unable to write with my hand because of a fluxion I have on my eyes. I will tell you that I am very sorry if you have received a letter that I sent to you by an express man.... I have received letters from Paris urging me to come... I hope we will go and see you as soon as I am well. I won't tell you anything yet about this wretched trial which is not yet on the bar but which I hope will be in the coming week..."
