"the particular satisfaction we have of the great and important Services his ancestors have rendered us on all occasions..., persuaded that our said Cousin the Prince de LAMBESC will follow in their footsteps, and give us like them proofs of his zeal, his valor, and his fidelity to our Service..." - LAMBESC (Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, 6° Duc-Pair d'ELBEUF, Comte de Brionne, Prince de) Versailles 1751 - Vienna (Austria) 1825 - Grand Ecuyer 1761, last Governor of ANJOU in 1761, Colonel of the Royal-German Cavalry Regiment, in charge, on July 12, 1789, of dispersing the gatherings that had formed on Place Louis-XV. He emigrated with his regiment. On August 1, 1761, King Louis XV granted his father's charges to the young Charles-Eugène de LORRAINE, son of Mme de Brionne and the deceased Prince Louis Charles de LORRAINE.
