SEINE-ET-MARNE. Comte de SÉGUR family. Letter from Paul de S - Lot 494
SEINE-ET-MARNE. Comte de SÉGUR family. Letter from Paul de SÉGUR, Comte de Ségur, Deputy of Seine-et-Marne in 1842 (Paris 1809 - 1886). signed "Paul" (circa 1850): addressed to his mother, La Comtesse de SÉGUR, at Château de LA RIVIÈRE in the commune of THOMERY (Seine et Marne): "... I have all kinds of trouble concerning mr de Thou, whom we know will be sent to collège Louis-le-grand... This keeps me in Paris until Amélie returns. Nothing new as far as I know. Our master hung out today at the Palais de l'Industrie. He looked radiant. The Empress looks fat but very defeated. My father is very well. Mme de Girardin suffered from gum disease and recovered with a vesication. The Legitimists are very discouraged, the Bonapartists quite satisfied. It is believed that serious negotiations will take place during the winter. Basically, we know nothing and there is little political talk...".
