Fencing/ Antique postcards/ Joinville/ Féminin...Exceptional album of postcards belonging to a fencing master. This collection of 230 postcards, most of them photographic or fancy, gives us an idea of the importance of fencing in the early 20th century. From Joinville to Saïda, via Melun, St Cyr, Saumur, La Flèche, Polytechnique, Orléans, Bordeaux, Angers or Arcachon, all the barracks and fencing halls are represented here, but women's and children's fencing is not forgotten... School fencing is also in the loop, with Lakanal, Stanislas and A. Pascal. Spa towns (Vittel, Contrex) are not forgotten. The great Gaudin is there, and there's even an Olympic touch, and a menu from Champagne Mercier, to drink in the nostalgia. A moving harvest.
