Very curious and rare pocket of old postcards (with purple postmark): "The Third Oriental Athletic Competitions Held, in Tokyo, Japan" (14x9.5), contains five new, rather thick photo postcards, a) overall photo of all participants in 7 rows, some in military garb (in medallion, the emperor and an admiral (?); b) astonishing picture of makeshift basketball players, in long pants, etc.; c) scene of basketball game in the open air, on parquet, "the shoot is on"; d) athletics, shot-putter; e) athletics, sprint start (no lane, no rope). 9X14. Rare set, 1920s.
