Its surface features hundreds of active volcanoes, producing large plumes of sulfur that rise up to several hundred kilometers from the surface. The Moon IO was first observed by Gallilé in January 1610, but it wasn't until the VOYAGER space program in the 1970s that we finally obtained magnificent psychedelic photographs of its intense volcanic activity.later chromogenic print.
