POLICY ROMANS - Thomas NARCEJAC (Pierre Ayraud dit, 1908-1998, author of detective novels with Pierre-Louis Boileau under the joint name Boileau-Narcejac) / Autograph letter signed, 4 p in-8, to a lady who congratulated him on his novels - Interesting personal confidences: ""Ten years ago - I can tell you under the seal of secrecy - the University broke my back because of my loyalty to the Marshal. Since November 10, 1944, I've been a suspect, watched and humiliated. I've been successively demoted and displaced. I was given literature classes, because they were wary of my influence on philosophy students. A right-wing Catholic, a Thomist, a Marshallian! What a scandal and what a danger! Forced to keep quiet, I threw myself into detective novels, to forget, and to learn the writer's trade", "Narcejac is the name of a small village in Saintonge to which I am deeply attached", etc. (this letter therefore dates from 1954, at the very start of his collaboration with Pierre-Louis Boileau).
