Jean-Pierre DANTAN dit DANTAN Jeune (1800-1869, sculptor) / Plaster statuette signed and dated "Dantan J. 1839" on the base (exterior side) depicting a full-length portrait of the famous violin virtuoso Nicolo PAGANINI (1784-1840), from a series of "grotesques" of the notoriety of his time called "Musée Dantan" (height 32 cm, damage to base, back and violin).
