NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Exceptional view of the Moon from the co - Lot 40
NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Exceptional view of the Moon from the command module of the Apollo 8 mission. Mare Crisium, the dark circular area near the center, is close to the eastern edge of the Moon, as seen from Earth. Mare Nectaris is the circular moor near the terminator. The large, irregular mayors are Tranquillitatis and Fecunditatis. The terminator, on the left of the picture, crosses Mare Tranquillitatis and the highlands to the south. Features on the far side of the Moon occupy most of the right half of the image. These radiating craters were not visible in the Lunar Orbiter probe photographs, due to the low elevation of the sun at the time these photographs were taken. December 1968. Posterior chromogenic print. Numbering on front. Label on back. 40,6 x 40,6CM with margins.
