UNIQUE ART MANUFACTURING CORP. - USA (1) L'IL ABNER AND HIS ORCHESTRA L'IL ABNER is a comic strip character created by Al Capp in 1934. He is shown here (height 17 cm) with a pianist seated at her piano, a drummer and a conductor... smoking a pipe! A superb mechanical toy in richly lithographed sheet metal, which comes to life as soon as you turn the key attached to the toy. The orchestra works, but the mechanism is showing its age (manufactured in 1940). Dimensions 26 x 22 cm. Very good condition, without box.
