Ref 560. At the beginning of the 20th century, in Germany, this was the very type of toy sold by peddlers, who were not allowed to offer items costing more than 3 marks. This one, mechanical and made of sheet metal, depicts a gardener pushing his wheelbarrow. 1920 version with patent dated May 12, 1903 on the right-hand side of the wheelbarrow.
The spring-loaded, key-wound movement (integral with the toy) powers the wheels and legs of the character in boots and cap.
Height 13.5 Long. 17.5 cm. Very good overall condition, hand engraving on the wheelbarrow spout, some parts more or less oxidized (wheels, key). No shovel.
