This Parisian Panhard bus, in lithographed sheet metal, is the only (mechanical) toy produced in 1950 by the Mahé-Guitton firm. But what a toy!
The lithographs illustrating the windows (side/front/rear) alone are little works of art. They show faces, and feature advertising that smacks of the 50s: GIBBS soap and blades, MENIER chocolate, ASPIRINE DU RHÔNE and ZÉNITH carburetors. Finished in green and cream, with the "Etoile Concorde Opéra Bastille" line in yellow, it is powered by a mechanical movement controlled by an integral key, and works perfectly. The front weathervane indicates line 115, ETOILE.
The 4 wheels are also in lithographed sheet metal. Extremely rare original illustrated brown cardboard box, complete and in very good condition.
