AUTOMOBILIA CITROËN (2) - Lot 159
AUTOMOBILIA CITROËN (2) - ROSALIE FLOATING ENGINE BADGE This cylindrical copper-brass badge, 11.8 cm in diameter, adorned the center of the spare wheel at the rear of the Citroën Rosalie (1932-1938). Designed by Pierre LOUYS, Citroën's artistic director at the time, it represents a perfectly stable swan on undulating water. A clear message to promote the merits of the "floating engine". The piece is mounted on a rectangular metal plate serving as a display stand. Good condition, traces of polish. - BOOK: THE HISTORY OF CITROËN TOYS By Paul Weill and Jean-Raoul Chaigné, éditions Adepte, 1981. Hardcover 27.5 x 21 cm, 132 pages including 10 in color & NB photos. Very good condition.
