Leaflet from a large Mamluk Koran Ink, polychrome pigments and gold on paper Levant, 14th century, Mamluk period Sight: 36.8 cm x 25.9 cm This leaf from a Mamluk-period Qur'an features a text spread over 15 lines per page, in naskh script, with lines 1, 8 and 15 in broad thuluth script. Verse separations are marked with illuminated flowers, and the margins are decorated with four polychrome and gold medallions and mandorls containing kufic inscriptions. (Minor visible wear and tear).
