SALON DE PROVENCE (13). 1293. ANCIENT STATUTES. Early 18th c. manuscript containing a copy of the directory of bulls, franchises, immunities, transactions and other letters patent and privileges contained in the White Book, granted to the City of SALON by Popes, Emperors, Kings of France and Lords Archbishops. Its ancient statutes begin in 1293 and end in 1494. Texts in Latin, with summary in the margin in French. (Statute of the Hunt, prohibition of the use of ferrets, regulation for weights and measures, regulation concerning winegrowers, entry of foreign wines punished, in favor of the nobles of Salon, rule for watering, punishment of adulterers, regulation for the marriage of minors, prohibition of drawing the knife, punishment of adulterers, statutes of the Jews (Article XII), prohibition of setting fire to stubble, regulation for butchers, bread-making, regulation for flocks, against the luxury of women).
