DUKE OF PUYLAURENS. 1634. "LETTRE DU ROY (LOUIS XIII), écrite aux Gouverneurs de provinces, sur la détention du Duc de PUYLAURENT: et ce qui s'y est passé." - Vignette Royale - Impr. à PARIS, chez A. Prevost, imprimeurs ordinaires du Roy. 1634, with privilege of His Majesty; 13pp in-8° - (Antoine de L'AGE, Duc de PUYLAURENS, became attached to Gaston d'ORLÉANS, whom he favored and directed in his intrigues. He urged Gaston to reconcile with King LOUIS XIII, and to break the marriage he had contracted with the sister of the Duke of Lorraine. He was rewarded with the gift of the Seigneurie d'AIGUILLON, made a Duchy-Payroll under the name PUYLAURENS (1634). But his favor was short-lived. He was arrested and died in prison at the Château de Vincennes on July 1, 1635).
