ARDENNES. Letter A.S. Comte d'ESTANIOLS (Nicolas-Louis) 1741 - 1823, Grand Sénéchal, Député de la Noblesse aux États-Généraux par le Bailliage de SEDAN. The letter is written from SEDAN on April 12, 1780, addressed to Mr. VESTIER, Avocat en Parlement, on the subject of his claims. "I intend, Sir, to have the honor of seeing you on Thursday 26th of this month when I pass through, to join the regiment, and since it is absolutely necessary for the silverware to reappear, I will carry it with me. I believe, sir, that creditors will not be able to refuse me provisions. We know that in addition to the annuity of a thousand écus, I must have 10,000 Livres and that I have received nothing. These creditors cannot doubt that I am a hundred times more to be pitied than they are. They don't care whether this money is in Mr Coeuillet's hands or mine. I have many expenses and I need them.
