You may judge Madame, if with this system of life, I have been able, I have had to preserve some relations with the distributors of what are called the Graces. I have pushed my isolation from everything that goes on around me to the point of forbidding myself to deliver any public paper; and my greatest care is to leave a large space between the world and myself.
