WHITE TERROR. CHOUANS. SARTHE.1815. PROCLAMATION and Arrêté of the Authorities commanding the Department of LA SARTHE, at Le MANS on June 20, 1815: "Some of you and your children have been deceived and taken by surprise. They have been armed against their fellow citizens and against your true interests... The EMPEROR (Napoleon), full of indulgence, opens his arms to you, and offers you all oblivion of the past, as he has never ceased to offer Peace to Europe...".
