Jean Victor PONCELET, Mathematician, Engineer and General, Commandant of the École Polytechnique from 1848 to 1850 (Metz 1788 - 1867). His diploma of Correspondent of the Société d'émulation de la ville de CAMBRAI (Nord), issued in Cambrai on June 15, 1822. Signed by Society President BÉTHUNE-HOURIEZ (Augustin Béthune dit), who was Mayor of CAMBRAI from 1817 to 1830. Fine engraved diploma, filled in with ink (53 x 41.5 cm). Wax seal of the company.
