Copy after one of the compartments in the decor of the Jesuit church in Antwerp, painted by Rubens around 1620. A similar series was exhibited by Bob Haboldt in 2001 / 2002 (see catalog "Northern european old master drawings and oil sketches, n°62, reproduced). Jacob de Witt drew copies after the 36 compartments of this set in 1711 / 12.
The decor was destroyed by fire in the 18th century.
