Cartier Gentleman's watch in 850 thousandth platinum and diamonds with mechanical movement - circa 1911. - Square case with rounded edges, screw-down bezel (with eight screws) set with sixty-four rose-cut diamonds in a grained setting and millegrain pattern around the edges, roller handles, beaded crown set with a rose-cut diamond in a closed setting, the caseband screwed down with four screws. - Smooth silvered dial, black painted Roman numerals and minute track, blued steel Breguet hands. - Attachment strap in burgundy-red lizard leather (Varanus spp. CITES appendix IIB), lining in amaranth-red calfskin, steel pin buckle also attached. CASE Case with "Tête d'aigle" guarantee hallmark on back and edge (used for platinum 850 thousandths until 1912). Trace of three engravings on the back (illegible). Upper part of the case numbered on the edge: 9880 Dial signed "Cartier". MOVEMENT Hand-wound mechanical movement signed Cartier Paris, inscribed "18 Eightteen Jewels - 8 Eight Ajustment - Cartier Paris" and "2" below the balance bridge. Condition report: - Cosmetic condition: good overall condition, wear scratches on bezel, case middle, case back and crystal, slight dent at 7 o'clock. on the case, three caseband screws probably from the period, one added (at 8 o'clock), straight-stem pumps at the handles slightly protruding patina of the dial with stains and slight paint loss at 10:30, bracelet made by the Maison Atelier du Bracelet Parisien (Paris), pin buckle. - Mechanical condition: the watch is in working order at the time of appraisal, with no guarantee as to durability.
