Tomas Tagliaferro (attributed to): Remarkable snuffbox in gold-spotted blond tortoiseshell. Neapolitan work, 1730s - 1740s. Rocaille decoration of piqué point and gold inlay forming rocaille motifs of scales and foliage. Later clasp in 18k gold; hinge in 14k gold. To be compared with the snuffbox in the Louvre (inv. TH 1438) attributed to Tomaso Tagliaferro by Alexis Kugel - (J. Kugel (dir.), Complètement piqué : le fol art de l'écaille à la cour de Naples, cat. exp. (Paris, galerie J.
