WAR 39/45 - KASSEL-MATTENBERG Prison Camp - Precious collect - Lot 36
WAR 39/45 - KASSEL-MATTENBERG Prison Camp - Precious collection of 31 handwritten letters sent in 1943 and 1944 by a French prisoner from the Mattenberg prison camp in Germany, Roger Nouailhac, to his wife and mother. Most of these letters are written on poor quality squared paper, or on letter cards. A very moving read, in which the prisoner gives numerous details of his daily life as a prisoner, his occupations (compulsory labor...), freely shares his state of mind and shows concern for the fate of his family back in France... a very beautiful and rare set.
