Jean LEPAUTRE (1618-1682) Composite collection of around one hundred original etchings after drawings by Jean Le Paultre (Lepotre, Lepautre or Le Paultre), engraved by himself and executed by various artists (mainly Pierre Mariette and Le Blond, but also de Poilly, Johann Ulrich Kraus and Susanna Maria von Sandrart) featuring ornamental and architectural figures: doors, cabinets, altars, tabernacles, pulpits, gallery ceilings, Italian-style ceilings, carriages, wheelchairs, friezes, foliage and other Italian-style ornamentation, jambs, wainscoting, grotesques, moresques, capitals, architraves, cornices, fireplaces, vases, cartouches, Italian-style fountains or water jets, naval battles, etc. 100 loose-leaf cardboard sheets, each with an engraving (sometimes two) glued on. 36 x 27 cm The last two cardboard leaves each feature an ornamental engraving after Simon Vouet, engraved by Michel Dorigny. One cardboard leaf features an engraving by Philip Fruytiers. The collection is housed in a 19th-century bound album inscribed LEPAUTRE on the title page.
