Michel Etienne TURGOT, Louis BRETEZ. Turgot's map of Paris First edition of the "Turgot Plan", the most famous bird's-eye perspective plan of Paris, consisting of a folded assembly plan and 20 double-page plates, including 18 and 19 in a single fold-out. Begun in 1734, drawn and engraved, completed in 1739. Surveyed and drawn by Louis Bretez 1739. Large folio, old red morocco, ribbed spine decorated with fleur-de-lys and on the corners, the cover framed with gilt fleur-de-lys lace, arms of Paris in the center. Ex-libris with the coat of arms of the Society of Jesus on the front cover and red IHS stamps. Accidents, missing parts, traces of damp, very damaged binding.
