COUBERTIN (Baron Pierre de) (1863-1937). A masterpiece. In four volumes, in 1920, the Baron recounts "L'Histoire Universelle"... Beneath a pale green cover, this sum is still as topical as ever. Asian Empires, the Mediterranean drama, the Celts, the Germans and the Slavs. All topped off with "the formation and development of modern democracies". Not Tocqueville, but good Coubertin (24.5x16). T1, 92p, T2, 190p, T3, 158p, T4, 224p. Edition Sté Histoire Universelle, Aix en Provence, imp Paul Roubaud. Very good condition. Two images (12x17) of IOC members in 1894, from Olympia 1936 (n°100), are enclosed.
