PESTE DE LILLE of 1668. Placard (35.5 x 29) given by "Messieurs les Echevins, Conseil, et 8 Hommes, commis à la Chambre de Santé établie en la Ville de LILLE" (Entête, Lettrine), January 5, 1668 - stating that the Contagious Disease is diminishing and diminishing, by the Grace of God, & the human remedies we have employed", thanks to the Place de Santé half a quarter of an hour distant from the City,... the infection is contained to the body & house of the Pestiférés: & why, in view of the Certificates issued to individuals stating that they are not infected with the Contagious disease,... there is no danger of admitting, lodging & receiving such individuals in garrisons, nor goods, commodities & all other things coming from them...".
