NASA. DEEP SPACE. VERY LARGE FORMAT. Nothing less in this ex - Lot 340
NASA. DEEP SPACE. VERY LARGE FORMAT. Nothing less in this extraordinary and rare cosmic snapshot than the extraordinary image of a cosmic tarantula captured by the Webb telescope. Thousands of never-before-seen young stars appear in the Tarantula Nebula, along with dozens of galaxies in the background. The center of this image, taken by Webb's Near-Infrared Camera instrument, has been hollowed out by the radiation of massive young stars (in sparkling pale blue). Only the densest surrounding areas of the nebula resist erosion, forming the pillars that appear to point towards the star cluster at the center. These pillars shelter stars still in formation, which will eventually leave their dusty cocoon and help shape the nebula. Vintage chromogenic print. Label on back. 90 x 150CM with margins.
