[Henri BERGSON, 1859-1941, philosopher Nobel Prize in Literature] - Louise BERGSON (née Neuburger, 1872-1946, his wife) / Autograph letter signed by Louise Bergson, 2 p in-8, December 31, 1941, accompanied by an original photograph of Henri Bergson (5.5 x 8 cm), addressed to writer Félix BONAFE (1922-1996), Félix Bonafé explained in an attached autograph note of October 1978 the circumstances of this letter: "Following a visit I made to Madame Bergson to ask her for an autograph of her husband, she wrote to me on December 31, 1941 in a quite charming way and offered me a small portrait of the philosopher" / Joint: 2 autographed letters signed by Albert NEUBURGER (1891-1985, Louise's brother, and therefore Henri Bergson's brother-in-law), 1978, to Félix Bonafé, to whom he explains that his niece Jeanne (Bergson's daughter) has bequeathed her father's manuscripts to the BN, and he himself, the final legatee, has had Bergson's study reconstituted at the Bibliothèque Doucet, where all his literary correspondence has been deposited; he himself has kept the personal correspondence.
