AUDE - Joseph CARAGUEL (Narbonne 1855-1941, positivist writer, said to be the favorite disciple of the Goncourt brothers) / Important correspondence of 90 signed autograph letters, totaling 262 p (various formats), circa 1892-1908, qq. envelopes preserved, to his friend Jules HURET (1863-1915, journalist known for his literary interviews as part of his major work "Enquête sur l'évolution littéraire", he interviewed Zola, Maupassant, Verlaine as well as Tolstoy, Kipling and Twain): Caraguel was one of Hurel's interviewees and close friends; together they gave themselves the nicknames of Flaubert's characters "Bouvard" or "Pécuchet", for one, and "Foureau" or "Boch" for the other (it's these latter nicknames that Caraguel signs his letters); they talked about the press, publishers, readings, their reviews, current affairs, politics / Joint: 8 drafts of autograph letters from Jules Huret and an autograph letter signed by Serge Bassel of the "Figaro" about a play by Caraguel.
