UZES (Gard) - Georges BORIAS (1908-1988, art teacher, painter and engraver, patron and volunteer director of the Musée d'Uzès that bears his name) / Suite of 5 original woodcuts, captioned and signed in his own hand (each 14 x 20 cm): these are illustrations for the book "Des Camisards aux Maquisards" by Muse and Raymond Tristan-Severe, published in Uzès in 1945 by Peladan (work concerning the Resistance); 3 woodcuts are different states of the same illustration, on one of which Borias specified "engraving refused by the authors!"(the other 2 are 1 of 3 numbered proofs and the final print run); the other 2 are 1 of 3 numbered proofs of each illustration (note a stain on one, these are working documents).
