MEDITERRANEE 1937 / Album of original amateur photographs from a trip to the Mediterranean in March-April 1937, 42 p (29 x 22.5 cm) with approx. 200 photos (average 10 x 6 cm) captioned along the way, the album has an embossed leather cover: The album begins with Egypt, off Alexandria, on the "Sphinx" and the "Patria", the new district of Heliopolis (Cairo) with Baron Empain's villa, a visit to the Memphis oasis, the pyramids and the Sphinx, Louksor, the Colossus of Memnon, street scenes in Cairo, on to Jerusalem, the Wailing Wall, Bethlehem, Mount Carmel, Nazareth, Cana, Lake Tiberias, Damascus, Balalbek, Beirut, Rhodes, Smyrna, Constantinople, Athens, the erupting Stomboli, Naples and Vesuvius.
