Olympic Games/ IOC/ Congress/ 1921/ 1933/ Lausanne/ Sweden/ - Lot 94
Olympic Games/ IOC/ Congress/ 1921/ 1933/ Lausanne/ Sweden/ Coubertin. Two leaflets in mint condition, as essential as they are official and little known. In French: a) "Propositions Motivées, rédigées par le Comité Olympique Suédois et se rapportant à certaines questions soulevées à l'occasion du Congrès du Comité Olympique International réuni à Lausanne, mai-juin 1921....". The 20-page document is highly topical, with categorical proposals for reducing the number of participants in the Games. No Winter Games, no rugby, shooting and archery, polo, yachting, track cycling, etc. (20.5x13.5; b) "The International Olympic Committee and the Modern Olympic Games". Under a sober green cover, 16 pages detail the history, delegates, national committees, Congresses, holders of the Olympic Cup created by Baron P. de Coubertin, and above all the purpose and organization of the IOC (flag, motto, 43 countries and 66 delegates, other Games, etc.). Loyalty, fair play, chivalry and self-discipline are essential (small tear at bottom of page). 20,5x13,5.
