Henri BOSCO(Avignon 1888-1976,Novelist) / Autograph letter signed, 2 p in-4, on the letterhead of the Grand Café de la Bourse in Avignon, [1929], to Louis-Daniel HIRSCH(1891-1974, commercial director of Editions Gallimard and member of the reading committee): He informs him that he has "urgently returned all the proofs of Q. de S.["Quartier de Sagesse"]", "je vous suppliez le mouvement, de pousser Mademoiselle Gall [service] fabricationavec fureur"; Bosco is already thinking about the trailer and proposes "Sous l'olivier de Barbentane...NRF" - In subscription, he will propose 3 other strips: "Barbentane aussi a des cœurs..", "On aime à Barbentane..." or "Barbentane lieu de tendresse..."He says he received an "epitre" fromBenjamin Crémieux(1888-1944, literary critic and member of Gallimard's reading committee) in which "he puts a friend of his under my wing in Naples", and comments ironically: "you know me to be violent enough not to miss such an opportunity to oblige someone whose beard I wanted to pull. My wing will be gentle on this Crémieux protégé. Very gentle"; He specifies in fine that he will remain in Lourmarin until October 18.
