MARINE. 1793 - Printed memorandum "VILLÉON, Contre-Amiral adressé à la Convention Nationale." Printed leaflet, 16 pages in 8 with headband: "It is after 37 years of service at sea that the Commissioners of the Executive Power, delegated to SAINT DOMINGUE, have temporarily suspended me from my duties as Commander of the vessel "LE JUPITER", which they have sent me to follow the Conventional Assembly, to justify myself before it for their charges...." made at the Abbaye (Prison of) this January 6, 1793 - Jean Baptiste François, Comte de LA VILLÉON de la VILLEVALIO, seigneur de Frescheclos (Erquy/ Côte d'Armor 1740 - 1820) was a naval officer who took part in the American Revolution, ending his career as vice-admiral under the First Empire. He was a member of the Order of Cincinnatus and Knight of the Order of Saint Louis.
